![]() I use the app to make calculations and save Soulver documents into related Finder folders, which I couldn’t do for months after the v.3 release. I liked the original conceit on the Mac of app + files and I chafed at the new design of a single database containing all calculations, inside the app because at first you couldn’t save files out of the app. They essentially remade the app from the ground up (Acqualia Software basically said that the original code was a hack that needed revamping), and it’s taken them this much longer to (still not) get a syncable iOS app, which is disappointing. Different architecture, different coloration, slightly different way of working. I immediately upgraded from Soulver to Soulver 3 for the Mac when it came out two years ago, and I was frankly disappointed in it. And no, a tweet in response to a question is not good enough. Make it free if you can’t be bothered to let your users know what your plans are. If I’m spending money on an app, I expect a professional attitude. Now either you’re a serious developer who wants to be taken seriously and communicates with your users or you are an amateur who doesn’t think about your users. The free Apple Numbers app can do the job and I know it will always be available when I need it. That is not an app I want to use to store important information. There was not a single mention on the website. At least now I know to look there in the future.īut still, I find it to be a major issue if an app disappears without a trace. ![]() I didn’t know it would appear in this hidden My Purchases section of the App Store. So I went to the App Store to get it and couldn’t find it anywhere. I wanted to talk about a financial thing in one of the Soulver docs, so I take out my iPhone to look at it and the app wasn’t installed for some reason. I normally use my iPad for this, but on Saturday I was out visiting a family member. Not as widely used - the market that uses Soulver is much less developed than those that use traditional calculation and spreadsheeting software.I had a couple of Soulver docs with important financial information. Sleek interface - the interface is very clean and does not overwhelm the senses.įast - By eliminating the traditional spreadsheet format, you can perform a large number of unique calculations in a short amount of time.Ĭons: Less robust than traditional spreadsheet software - there is less ability to handle large data sets than traditional spreadsheeting software due to the lack of a cell format where formulas can be entered. Pros: Ease of use - you can type in data in continuous fashion rather than having to worry about the typical hassle of spreadsheet cells and formulas. Soulver offers a feature-rich experience in a simple interface, making it an ideal choice for both the average user and those who need complex mathematical capabilities from their software. The software is linked in the cloud as well. Among its many features are currency conversion, unit conversions, and stock price updates. Despite its simplicity however, Soulver offers a wide range of complex features that make it a great choice for users of any level. This software is truly accessible to all. Novice users do not need to fret about the different formatting requirements and language that formulas require. Users are able to type the things that they would ordinarily write. The simplicity of the software is what really makes this software great. The software offers all of the standard calculation functions and lets you type out expressions in a continuous format rather than having to input data in separate cells followed by a formula like standard spreadsheeting software. Overall Opinion: Soulver is the new tool that promises to make your computer calculations go by quicker and easier than ever before.
